Serious standard ran today

How come the standard was so high for this race?

is this race completely downhill going into the town because it is pretty steep hence the fast times

There is roughly a 10m drop in the first few hundred metres but it isn't huge. The fast times are more due to the some of the names taking part rather than any particular advantage of the course.

This race used to have a lot of big prizes in the past although I'm not sure if that is still the case.

A good race that was well organised and marshalled. The place we're the results were announced and prizes wasn't the best venue though. Move it back to the local hall next year. During the race there was some mad bumping and barging though!!! Will be back.
