Barry Minnock of Rathfarnham runs 2:17 in Hanover Marathon...

In an impressive piece of running, Barry Minnock of Rathfarnham WSAF ran 2 hrs 17 mins 41 secs at the Hanover Marathon in Germany today. Apparently, he had entered the race as a warm-up for the Copenhagen Marathon, intending to drop out at 30km, but felt so good he kept going!

His time is just 2m 41s outside the 'A' standard for the London Olympics. The Copenhagen Marathon is on the 20th of May.

Well done! As per first poster said. He might be caught in the middle did not try hard first race and too tired for second race.
