Results of the Rising Sun 'Straight Mile'...Sun 17th May 2009

The rain held off just long enough for this 1 mile road race near Ballinhassig to the south-west of Cork City at 7pm. A total of 62 runners took part, an increase of 16 on last year's figure of 46. A few hardy souls mainly from East Cork also made an appearance despite having run in the John Treacy 10 Mile Classic earlier in the day ;o).

With most entrants giving more than the minimum entry, no doubt several hundred Euro was raised for the Lavanagh Centre.
