Results & photos of the Midleton 5 mile road race...Thurs 5th May 2016

There was a record turnout of 654 runners this year for the annual Midleton 5 mile road race. This was also a special occasion for the club as it is celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016.

This was up a whopping 62.3% on the numbers last year and up 14.5% on the previous record of 571 in 2013.

By the way, that spike back in 1985 was for the Cork 800 celebrations and there was a special wooden trophy for all finishers.

Good event as always. Thought the use of Market Green worked very well, plenty parking, not too far from the start. Sandwiches and cakes were very tasty, and split into more than one line so didn't have a long queue. Nice commemorative tshirt and all! Happy anniversary Midleton AC!

Hi,
Just wondering whether you're going to post the rest of the results?

Superb online signup and collection. There is a bit of annoyance at the back marker times being cut off at 50 mins, but I am sure that will be rectified.

Take a bow Midleton AC. I did the old course in the early 90's. This one is way better.

Haven't run this in 3 years. The use of the market green shopping centre was a excellent idea. Very well organised as usual. One of the best 5 milers in Cork

Great Race, brilliant course (one of my favourites), and efficient organisation. Well done Midleton AC and happy birthday.

If my finishing time is anything to go by it looks as if the times given are the gun times and not the chip time.

Just have been going through results to find I am not included in same. There was a chip contained on my number.

Great race. From the moment I registered to the gorgeous array of food at the end, it was superbly well organised. The volunteers were many and enthusiastic, the course was fun and fast and the weather was warm and sunny. What more could you ask for. Take a bow Midleton AC, you are the standard bearer of how to "run" excellent events.
